Currently, as the country is in lockdown, Why Cook? meals are delivered in paper bags and you need to be home to receive them.
How long will my meals last for?
Fresh Why Cook meals will last between 7 to 9 days in the fridge.
How do the meals stay fresh?
Why Cook uses a natural method of preserving the food without the need for additives or preservatives. Straight after cooking, our meals are blast chilled to less than 4 degrees centigrade. This reduces the risk of pathogens developing. We then pack our meals while removing oxygen from the containers to slow down the oxidation process, allowing the product to stay fresh naturally for longer.
Can I freeze my Why Cook meals?
We recommend that your meals are consumed fresh. However, if required most of our meals may be frozen before the use by date and then consumed within 3 months. If you intend to freeze your meals, it is better to do so when you first receive them.
What happens if I have food allergies?
Our product description will contain advice as to whether the meal is Gluten or Dairy Free or both. For any other allergies, we suggest that you check each meal ingredient thoroughly before consumption.
Do you have vegetarian dishes?
We do have an ever increasing range of vegetarian dishes available.
Do you use any artificial additives, colours, flavour enhancers or preservatives?
We don’t use any artificial additives, colours, flavour enhancers or preservatives ourselves in the kitchen. However, there are some ready-made ingredients we use – for example some Asian sauces, cream etc.- which may contain additives. If you have any concerns about a particular dish, please email us at enquiries @whycook.com.au
How do I pay?
Payment is through PayPal where you can use VISA, MasterCard and AMEX.
Do I need to enter into a contract?
No. There are no contracts and no joining fees.
When should I put my Orders?
Place your order online by midnight on Sunday for delivery on following Wednesday.
Place your order by midnight on Wednesday for delivery on following Friday.
Orders finalised after these cut off point will be delivered during next week delivery.
Where do you deliver?
We currently deliver to many suburbs around Brisbane and surrounding areas. To verify if we deliver to your Post Code, first select a meal, then in the box under “Check Availability At” enter your Post Code and press “Check” to confirm delivery.
When do you deliver?
We deliver on Wednesday or Friday based on the time you place your order (see above).
Do you deliver on weekends and public holidays?
We are closed on these days. If your order falls on a public holiday, your delivery will move to the next possible delivery day. We’ll notify you on your expected delivery day.
Is there a minimum order?
The minimum order for our fresh quality meals is $50.00
Do I need to be home to receive the delivery?
Yes. As the country is in lockdown, to reduce packaging recycling, we deliver our meals in brown paper bags. We’ll be in contact to let you know the approximate time of delivery.
Can I pick up my order from the kitchen?
Yes. The kitchen is located on the lower ground floor of The Gap Football Club. Just drive around the Club house until you reach the football field, opposite a green shed. Park your car and walk to the kitchen (Brown Door next to Security Windows). We’ll advise you of picking up time. Please note that Social Distancing rules apply.
My Post Code is not on the list
With the expansion of the business, we’ll be adding new post codes to the list above. If your post code is not already in the list, please give us a call. Sometimes, we do different routes that can bring us closer to your home. Therefore, in some circumstances we may be able to arrange delivery to your address outside of the listed Post Codes.
